RANTOUL — Rantoul Theater Group is alive and kicking despite having lost its building when Grissom Hall closed.

RTG will stage its next production at Market Street Theatre, 120 N. Market St., thanks to the Tri County Players and Tom and Sherry Janowski.

"Faith County 2, An Evening of Culture" will run at 7:30 p.m. July 20-21 and 27-28.

The slapstick comedy is focused on the favorite characters from the original "Faith County" as they try to put on Bill Shakespeare’s "Romeo and Juliet."

The beleaguered director and her faithful stage crew try to hold things together amidst the chaos of falling flats, a prima donna, a lovesick dog owner who can’t leave her dog at home, and Bubba, a rather simple soul taxed with the role of Romeo.

Rantoul Theater Group has staged several productions at Rantoul’s junior high and high school. The latest production will be the first time RTG has ventured outside of Rantoul to present a play since Grissom Hall closed.
