RANTOUL — Champaign County Crime Stoppers needs help finding the person or people who fired gunshots in Rantoul last week.

About 1:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were sent to Bel Place and Bel Air Drive, where several residents reported hearing two gunshots. Officers initially could not find evidence of a shooting but eventually located two victims who reported they arrived at a home in that area and saw three young men nearby.

One of the three fired two shots from a handgun at the two victims, who ran into a home. The trio ran away.

No injuries were reported, and police could find no damage or evidence.

The suspects were described as three teen-age males. Two were wearing dark-colored hoodies, and the third was wearing a gray-colored hoodie.

Police believe they intentionally targeted the men at whom they shot.
