RANTOUL — Rantoul business owner David Horn, owner of Horn Insulation, has marked his 50th anniversary in business.
Horn and his oldest brother, Jim, started insulating for Williams Insulation in 1968.
At the time, Williams was the largest insulation business in the country.
In 1973, the Horn brothers formed a partnership with the mother of David’s wife, Cindy, in Odessa, Texas, after the oil boom there went bust.
Horn Brothers Insulation went north to Indianapolis to work a job at Ft. Benjamin Harrison. Horn then became associated with Roessler Construction in phase 3 of Ft. Ben and transferred to Rantoul in 1990.
A letter of recommendation from Williams Insulation hangs in the Horn company office at 313 E. Congress Ave.
As Horn retires, he leaves the company in the hands of a son, Jesse, and a grandson, Joey.
