High school football predictions from the so-called experts

And then there was one.

Unity’s Rockets are the only football team in The News-Gazette’s coverage area still alive in the playoffs.

Unity pulled out a memorable 10-7 win on Saturday at Williamsville to hand the Bullets their first loss of the season and advance the Rockets to their fourth straight Class 3A semifinal appearance.

Just like we’ve done all season, our panel of prognosticators — Fred Kroner, Marcus Jackson and Jim Rossow of The News-Gazette, Matt Daniels of the Rantoul Press, Andrew Helregel of the Piatt County Journal-Republican, Andrew Rosten of the Paxton Record and Nora Maberry-Daniels of The Leader — are here to give you their predictions. Enjoy.

When informed that she had the best record (9-1) from the quarterfinal games, Maberry-Daniels let out a fist pump. Her husband (7-3) just sighed. Jackson (7-3) and Kroner (8-2) are tied again for first. Surprise, surprise.
