Hawks shut out Eagles

By RANTOUL PRESS

FAIRBURY — In an Illini Prairie Conference matchup Thursday, Rantoul’s baseball team was handed a 5-0 defeat by Prairie Central on the road.

The Eagles (3-3) mustered just two hits in their lone game of the week, as Adam Crites doubled, and John Frerichs singled.

The Hawks put up a pair of runs in the first and third innings before adding another in the fifth.

Nolan Roseman was dealt the loss, allowing four runs (three earned) and two hits with six walks and four strikeouts across four innings.

Rantoul’s scheduled games Friday and Saturday were canceled due to weather. The Eagles bounced back with a 7-2 win on Monday over St. Joseph-Ogden after plating six runs across the fifth and sixth innings.

The Eagles are scheduled to play at Charleston on Wednesday.
