Rantoul boys place second at Urbana Open

The Rantoul boys' team tied for second at the 75th Urbana Open, the best finish by a local school at the nine-team meet. Jerry Harper won the 400-meter dash in 51.29 and Donnell Robertson claimed the title in the 110 hurdles in 15.66 for Rantoul's two individual wins.

Kai Baumgartner of Champaign Central won the long jump (19 feet, 2 inches) and the triple jump (41-51 / 2) to help the Maroons finish sixth. Urbana placed fourth, with Jeremiah Hamilton winning the 200 (23.05), Justice Carter winning the 3,200 (10:15.54) and Micah Stearns winning the pole vault (12-0). Danville finished fifth, with Quemarii Williams in the 800 (1:55.39) and Sincere Davis in the 1,600 (4:34.04) winning their respective events.
