Sheila Whitcomb

Shelia Whitcomb, 66, of Rantoul died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.

No services are being held at this time. 

Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Whitcomb was born Sept. 17, 1952, in Champaign, a daughter of David and Annetta (Knospe) Black. She married Stanley Whitcomb Oct. 25, 1974, in Champaign.

She is survived by her mother; her brothers Jack, Richard, and Gary; her sons Michael and Matthew; and daughters-in-law Heather and Paulette.

She was preceded in death by her sister Sharon; her father;  and her ex-husband, Stanley Whitcomb.

Ms. Whitcomb was the oldest of five and was raised in Thomasboro, then Rantoul; graduated from Rantoul Township High School in 1970; and worked for Century Restaurant and Billy G’s Bowling in Rantoul.

She moved to Great Falls, Mont., with her sons and husband when he was stationed to Malstrom Air Force Base in 1976.

After moving home in 1981, she ran a household, raising her boys, then worked for MSCI/HOV for 23 years in many roles and retired in 2017.

Ms. Whitcomb was quick to laugh and joke, loved movies and reading.
