Mildred N. Frerichs, 84, of Flatville died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville, with the Rev. James Lehmann officiating. Burial will follow in Beckman Cemetery, rural Rantoul.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Dier’s Hall, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville, and at the church on Sunday one hour before the service.
Baier Family Funeral Services, Paxton, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Frerichs was born July 27, 1927, in Champaign County, a daughter of John E. and Emma G. Bergman Franzen. She married Harm H. Frerichs June 15, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Flatville. He preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1987.
She is survived by one son, Keith (Debbie) Frerichs of Royal; three daughters, Donna (Darrell) Uken of rural St. Joseph, Sheila (Royce) Baier of Paxton and Nancy (John) Reep of Loda; 11 grandchildren; eight eight great-grandchildren; a stepbrother, Albert Ehmen of Rantoul; a brother-in-law, Elvin Ackerman of Rantoul; and three sisters-in-law, Erna Ehmen and Verna Hewitt, both of Rantoul, and Marie Mennenga of Nashville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, a brother, a stepsister and two stepbrothers.
Mrs. Frerichs graduated from Rantoul Township High School. She was a farm wife and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Flatville.
She enjoyed her family, friends and all the simple things in life. Some of her passions included the Chicago Cubs, playing euchre and attending any and all family events.
Memorials may be made to Multiple Sclerosis, American Diabetes Association, Crohn’s Colitis Foundation of America or an organization of the donor’s choice.
