Ronald W. Hill Jr., of Goose Creek, S.C., son and brother of two Fisher residents, died Friday, April 6, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at Willowbrook Cemetery, Fisher.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Blair-Owens Funerla Home, 102 E. Dunbar, Mahomet.
Mr. Hill was born Feb. 25, 1955, in Gibson City, a son of the late Ronald William Hill Sr. and Patricia Hennigh Hill.
He is survived by his wife, Janet, of Goose Creek, S.C.; his mother, Patricia, of Fisher; two sons, Avery Hill Sr. of Goose Creek, S.C., and Adam Hill (Jackie) of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; a brother, Richard Hill of Black Fort, Idaho; a sister, Tina O’Bryan of Fisher; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Hill.
Mr. Hill served as a volunteer fireman with several fire departments including Sangamon Valley Fire Department, Cornbelt Fire Department and Edge-Scott Fire Department between 1976 and 1989. He joined the James Island Fire Department in 1989 and retired as a battalion chief. He also served as an instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy.
