LUDLOW — The village of Ludlow will again award prizes for the top Christmas decorations in the village.

Prizes will be $50 for first, $25 for second, $15 for third and $10 for fourth.

Village board members will vote on their top choices. They are to get their votes to Mayor Pete Walker no later than Dec. 25.

The contest was among the discussion items at last week’s monthly village board meeting.

The board voted to pay Murle Roy of Paxton for repair of a damaged hydrant.

The hydrant was damaged last month by a semi trailer. The insurance company for the owner of the rig will compensate the village for the repair.

The board learned the village dump truck has been repaired and is ready to plow snow. Rex Phillips is interested in plowing for the village during the week.

The board approved a part-time police hiring ordinance.

The board learned that the water tower cleaning project is on hold while the Sodemann and Associates engineers await references for Hanfland Painting Contractors of Sigel, the firm that will do the work.
