Trick or treat, other Halloween events set in area

Area communities have set trick or treat hours for Halloween.

Halloween activities have also been scheduled in Rantoul.

Trick-or-treat hours Wednesday, Oct. 31, include:
• Rantoul — 6-8 p.m.
• Fisher — 6-8 p.m.
• Ludlow — 6-8 p.m.
• Thomasboro — 6-8 p.m.
• Gifford — 6-8 p.m.

Other local activities include:

Hanging with the Hooligans
A Hanging with the Hooligans event, sponsored by Hot Rods and Hooligans Motor Club, downtown businesses and Mid Illinois Concrete, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, in downtown Rantoul. Various downtown businesses will be open and will be handing out candy. A costume contest with prizes will be held in front of the Hot Rods and Hooligans club house, 107 N. Garrard St.

Halloween festival set
Rantoul Recreation Department will hold its annual Kids Halloween Festival from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at Wabash Park.
Children ages 4-12 are welcome to show up in costume, accompanied by an adult.
The event will include free games, prizes, inflatables, pumpkin painting and face painting. Snacks and refreshments.

Halloween Monster Mash
Rantoul Public Library will host a Halloween Monster Mash.
The event, for children 5 and older and their families, is set from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at the library
The event includes stories, games and spooky refreshments. Feel free to come dressed in Halloween costume. Leave the scary masks at home, however.
Preregister by Monday, Oct. 29, by calling 893-3955 or by stopping by the children’s circulation desk.

Haunted house
A haunted house will continue its run at its new location in Rantoul at Country Tyme Lanes.
The haunted house will be open from 7-11 p.m. Friday-Wednesday, Oct. 26-31. A “less-scary” haunted house will be offered from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, for children ages 3-12 in which the lights will be left on and the scarier masks will not be used.

Churches set events
Area churches have also scheduled activities.
American Lutheran Church will hold a trunk or treat from 5-6:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28.
First Baptist Church, Rantoul, will have a trunk ‘n treat event from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
Christian Life Church will host Fall Fest from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
First United Methodist Church will have a trunk o’ treat from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
