RTHS celebrating homecoming week

RANTOUL — The Disney-inspired “The Happiest Homecoming on Earth” is the theme for this year’s homecoming at Rantoul Township High School.

Plans were coordinated by the student council.

Spirit week began Monday, with each day carrying a theme.

Monday’s was  “Monsters University Day” in which students were encouraged to wear their favorite college gear.

Tuesday's is “Be Our Guest and Dress Your Best Day.”

Wednesday’s theme is Part of Your World Day (dress like your favorite Disney character).

The theme for Thursday is “Class Color Day” in which freshmen wear yellow, sophomores wear red, juniors dress in blue and seniors in black. Faculty color is green.

School Spirit Day is Friday. Everyone is encouraged to wear purple and gold.

Homecoming king and queen will be announced at the pep assembly, and the parade will be held at 4 p.m. The parade starts on Congress by the high school, to Tanner, Sangamon, Garrard and back to Congress.

The homecoming football game begins at 7 p.m. Friday at Bill Walsh Field against Monticello.

The homecoming dance will be from 7-10 p.m. Saturday in the RTHS cafetorium.
