St. Malachy has new principal — for a day

Savannah Ihnen, a first-grader at St. Malachy School, served as the schools’s principal for the day recently.

Principal Jim Flaherty is known for his assortment of ties, so Ihnen picked out one of her favorites to wear.

In addition to carrying out the numerous duties of principal, she, along with two of her classmates as her guests, joined Flaherty for lunch at Ott’s.

Principal for the Day was a gift given to Ihnen by her grandparents, Pat and Cathy Gallahue. It was one of the items auctioned off at the 2011 Fall Festival.
