Kavanaugh named Rantoul Exchange Club student of month

Kelly Kavanaugh has been named Rantoul Exchange Club student of the month.

She is a daughter of Julie Kavanaugh of Rantoul and Edward Kavanaugh of Champaign.

Kavanaugh ranks 16th in her class of 158 students and carries a grade point average of 4.923.

Her school activities have included softball, Interact Club, student council, HelpPeers, Eagle Mentoring Program mentor, National Honor Society and class float building.

Her school or civic offices or committee chairs held include treasurer of Interact, sophomore class treasurer, HelpPeers vice president and National Honor Society treasurer.

Honors or awards include Excellence in Algebra, perfect attendance, academic letter, Hugh O’Brian Leadership Conference, student of the week and honor roll every semester.

Among her civic and volunteer activities are Rantoul Clean Up Day, St. Malachy altar server, Toys for Tots volunteer, blood drive donor, Veterans Day luncheon volunteer and Cory Wagner Superhero Day volunteer.

She has worked as a teller at Bank of Rantoul since July 2011.

Kavanaugh plans to attend Parkland College and then transfer to a four-year university. She is undecided on a major.
