Worthington named Exchange Club student of month

Ryne Worthington has been named Rantoul Exchange Club student of the month.

A son of Tony and Patricia Worthington of Rantoul, he carries a grade point average of 5.083.
Worthington has been a member of Student Council and FFA all four years of high school and Future Business Leaders of America and the baseball and basketball programs for three years.

Other school activities have included National Honor Society, football team and Eagle Mentoring Program.

He served as Student Council president his freshman, sophomore and senior years and FBLA secretary his junior and senior years.

Honors and awards have included Scholar Athlete, 5.0 GPA award and has earned football, basketball and baseball number patches, varsity letters for basketball and baseball, been named student of the week and earned the Illinois Leadership Seminar award.

Civic and volunteer activities have included working with National Honor Society, St. Malachy youth group, Rantoul 5K run and altar-serving at St. Malachy Church.

His jobs have included carrier for Rantoul Press as well as work at Shields Auto Center, Rantoul Recreation Department, Mi Pueblo grocery store and side work for various individuals.

Worthington plans to attend Illinois State University, where he will major in marketing or business law. He might also play on the baseball team.
