Two attempt to rob motel clerk at knifepoint

Two people in masks, one armed with a knife, walked into a Rantoul motel and demanded money Wednesday night, a motel employee told police.

The employee said the people entered the Quarters Inn, 200 Linden Ave., about 9 p.m. and told the employee to give them money.

When the pair saw the employee hit the panic alarm, they fled the scene without any cash, police said.

The employee described the pair as both white males, one standing 6 feet tall and the other 5 feet tall. They fled the scene on foot.
