Five Rantoul residents were taken to an Urbana hospital Friday evening following a two-vehicle wreck north of Rantoul.
State Police at Pesotum said Zoe Kaler, 18, was westbound on Champaign County Road 3200 N at 8:16 p.m. when she failed to stop at a stop sign at U.S. 45. The car she was driving struck a southbound pickup truck on U.S. 45 driven by Vera L. Drake, 58.
All five people in the wreck were transported by ambulance to Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. A hospital spokeswoman Monday said all five had been treated and released.
They include Kaler and two passengers in her 2008 Mazda — Emily Kaler, 16, and Lacey Bertram, 15 — and Drake and a passenger in her 1999 GMC pickup — Randall Smith, 54.
State police charged Zoe Kaler with failure to yield at a stop/yield intersection.
All five people were wearing seat belts.
