News-Gazette Media is hiring an Inside Sales person to answer inbound classified advertising calls and also to aggressively seek new business by making outbound sales calls.

This position requires excellent customer service skills, good followthrough, and a desire to grow your income. Good

organizational skills are required along with a decent phone voice. You must be able to work efficiently to stay ahead of the high volume of inbound calls as well as to be able to carve out time to seek new business. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, with the desire to advance within the sales department.

The job requires excellent basic typing and computer skills with the ability to create sales orders and ad designs using various software applications.

Once trained, you will be assigned to prospect new business. At that point, you will earn commissions, in addition to your $12 per hour salary. Hours are 8:30am until 5pm Monday through Friday.

Under the general supervision, performs varied accounting and payroll activities following the established guidelines and procedures of the Village; and helps maintain accounting and payroll records.

A successful applicant must have the ability to perform in the preparation, maintenance and distribution of the bi-weekly account payable checks and reports, maintain payment files for all vendors and prepares year end forms. Assists the functions to process the bi-weekly/monthly payroll and Accounts Receivable. Communicates with various departments and vendors on outstanding accounts payable issues and follows up on any unresolved issues. Inputs and adjusts information into the general ledger on a daily basis as directed by the Accountant or Comptroller. Assist Human Resources Agent, Comptroller and Accountant in maintaining a flowing and effective process for Audit Prep, Accounts Payable, Receivables and Payroll. Oversee travel reimbursement process. Assist with HUD grant filings and other duties as required. Processes and balances cash receipts/utilities batches daily. Reconciliation of monthly bank statements.

Organizational skills and the ability to maintain a variety of diverse activities simultaneously. Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relations with Village of Rantoul staff. Requires knowledge of accounting principles equivalent to two years of college coursework in Accounting.

The Village of Rantoul is seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Fire Fighter with the Rantoul Fire Department. These individuals, under general supervision, perform fire fighting duties on an as needed basis. These duties include, but are not limited to, responding to incidents, attending on-going training and operating and using apparatus and equipment to which assigned. Requires knowledge, skill and intellectual development equivalent to the completion of four years of high school. Requires a valid Illinois driver's license in the appropriate classification required by law and the ability to be certified as a Fire Fighter II within three years of appointment on the Fire Department. Applicants will be required to pass a Physical Ability Test and a Written Skills Examination, as well as a background/criminal check.
