Accountant

Champaign County Nursing Home is currently recruiting a full-time Accountant to perform general accounting and detailed analysis for various aspects of accounts receivable in the business office for long term and adult day care including private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, Title XX, and various insurance payer sources. The candidate will maintain resident trust fund information, generate and process daily deposits and billing transactions, create and maintain detailed files and spreadsheets, maintain financial records for our nursing home, and provide courteous customer service when following up to resolve disputes, questions and/or concerns to our customers.

Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and two years of responsible office experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Requires thorough knowledge of bookkeeping principles and accounting procedures. The position requires a high degree of accuracy, ability to meet deadlines under time constraints, prepare detailed reports routinely, and have general knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid programs. Knowledge of Matrix, AS/400 and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Access is also preferred.
