The Village of Rantoul Position Opening


HVAC Technician

The Village of Rantoul is seeking a qualified individual to fill a position of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) with the Public Works HVAC Division.

Under general direction of the HVAC Chief of Operations, this individual performs a variety of duties related to the inspection, repair and maintenance of HVAC equipment that supply Village of Rantoul facilities with heating and cooling. This individual will also operate and maintain the vehicles, tools and equipment used for the repair and maintenance of these facilities.

This position requires knowledge, skill and intellectual development equivalent to the completion of four years of high school. Requires good physical strength and ability to work routinely at active manual tasks for continuous periods of time. Requires working knowledge of the operation and repair of the tools and equipment used in the division. Selected applicant must be willing to respond to emergencies at all times of the day and on weekends and will be required to live within a twenty mile radius of the corporate limits of Rantoul within six months after the completion of a six month probationary term. A post-offer drug screen will be required of the selected applicant. Requires possession of a valid State of Illinois Vehicle Operator’s license.

The starting wage range will be determined based on qualifications.
