Administrative Support – Public Works
The Village of Rantoul is seeking a qualified individual to fill an Administrative Support position within the Public Works Department. Depending on qualifications and experience, this position may be classified as an Administrative Support Supervisor or an Administrative Assistant.
Under general direction of the Director of Public Works, this individual performs a wide variety of duties related to the daily operations of the Public Works Department Office. This individual performs confidential administrative duties and oversees department files, records and correspondence. Candidate must be proficient with multiple software programs, including Excel and Microsoft Word.
This position requires knowledge, skill and intellectual development equivalent to the completion of four years of high school. Knowledge of the operation of general office equipment and multi-line telephone system is necessary. Selected applicant must live within a twenty mile radius of the corporate limits of Rantoul within six months after the completion of a six month probationary term. A post-offer drug screen will be required of the selected applicant. Requires possession of a valid State of Illinois Vehicle Operator's license.
The starting wage range will be determined based on qualifications.
