award-winning local information media business looking for a full-time accounting associate

responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical servics for the Finance Department.

Essential Job Functions

• Detailed accounts payable transactions such as

disbursement, vouchers, and check runs.

• Prepares deposits and balances to multiple

sub-ledger systems and prepares cash journal

and ledger entries.

• Set-up and maintain vendor and customer

accounts in the accounting system, including

correct 1099 classification.

• Create, post and balance data batches to

corresponding business system.

• Print, review and mail customer billing

correspondence.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Experience Preferred

• Knowledge and skills through completion of

bookkeeping and office procedures course

work combined with related financial and

administrative experience

• Knowledge of office administration and

bookkeeping procedures, knowledge of account

payable/receivables and maintaining general

ledgers

• Experience with computerized accounting,

spreadsheets and word processing programs,

and e-mail at a highly proficient level.

• Worked with high level, confidential financial

and employee files

Minimum Educational Requirements

Associates degree or equivalent work experience.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: The Village of Gifford will receive sealed bids at the Village Hall, located at 2296 County Road 3000 North for the construction of the Wastewater Treatment Facility Bioreactor until 2:00 PM CST on Thursday, July 27, 2017. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time.

The work for which bids are asked includes the following:

Construction of wastewater treatment improvements including a denitrifying woodchip bioreactor, flow split structure, packaged duplex pump station with separate valve vault, and all associated piping, valves, and appurtenances.

The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the OWNER as liquidated damages.

No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Do you want to make a difference in your community? Would you like to interact with residents throughout Rantoul to make the Village an even better place to live?

The Village of Rantoul is seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time temporary Community Outreach Coordinator position. The employee in this position performs a variety of specialized tasks related to the implementation of the Village's Neighborhood Services programs, under the advice and general direction of the Neighborhood Services Coordinator. These tasks may include planning and implementation of projects, programs, and activities to address neighborhood needs and providing ongoing support to neighborhood groups, community ambassadors, and the public and private school systems. This individual will provide support to neighborhoods to identify and prioritize needs, develop strategies and programs to respond to neighborhood problems, and communicate needs for municipal service delivery to the Neighborhood Services Coordinator and Village Administrator.

Candidates should have experience in community planning or related work, plus one year of neighborhood-organizing, project management, and public presentation experience, or any combination thereof. Grant writing experience and experience in preparing promotional materials is preferred. Possession of an Illinois Driver's license and the availability to work evenings and weekends to attend neighborhood meetings, events, and activities are required. The chosen candidate will work 10-15 hours a week, with a starting wage of $16/hour.
